About The Sandblaster Chorus

Our Mission: As a Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society we are inclusive to all who wish to sing a cappella four-part harmony. We strive for excellence in our musical performance, and in doing so, we inspire, educate and entertain our community.

The Sandblaster Chorus was chartered in 1978 as the Coachella Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Over the years, the Chorus has grown both its membership and repertoire. The Sandblasters appear in public performances during the Coachella Valley Winter Season, including our Annual Show every March.

We have about 40 active members, both Men and Women. The Sandblaster Chorus sings barbershop-style, four-part a cappella close harmony.  The Chorus rehearses year-round on Tuesdays and is the Coachella Valley’s premier practitioner of the barbershop style. Whether you’re a Tenor, Lead, Baritone or Bass (Woman usually sing either the Lead or Tenor parts, they are the most comfortable for their vocal range.) Your interest in a cappella singing will be your ticket to musical enjoyment.

If you love to sing and would like to experience barbershop harmony and the fellowship of other singers, please drop in any Tuesday night and visit us. Rehearsals start at 6:30 on Tuesday and conclude by 9 p.m. Occasionally, the Chorus members then adjourn for more singing at a local restaurant. Barbershop singing is fun, rewarding and satisfying.
Come join us for an evening of song.
